Physiotherapy for vertigo

Specialized Physiotherapy for Vertigo comprises a differentiated treatment concept for various forms of dizziness based on thorough diagnosis.

In the case of frequent positional vertigo (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, BPPV), specific repositioning maneuvers such as the Epley or Semont maneuver are used to return detached otoliths in the inner ear to their original position. Vestibular dizziness, on the other hand, involves vestibular training, which promotes central compensation in the brain through targeted, progressively increased exercises. This training includes gauze stabilization exercises, in which the patient focuses on a fixed point while moving his head, as well as balance exercises on different surfaces and with various levels of difficulty.

In addition, manual techniques on the cervical spine (for cervicogenic dizziness), special breathing exercises and relaxation techniques can be used. The therapy is individually adjusted and gradually increased in intensity in order to reduce symptoms and restore everyday ability.
