Neurodynamics
This specialized method aims to improve the lubricity and functioning of the entire nervous system. It is based on the neuroanatomical insight that nerves must move, slide and stretch adequately with every body movement in order to function optimally. Ageing processes, injuries or inflammatory processes can impair the ability of the nerves in their surrounding tissue to glide, which can lead to movement restrictions, sensory disorders and pain.
In neurodynamic treatment, specific body positions and controlled movements place certain nerve courses under dosed tension. These neurodynamic techniques are individually adapted to the patient and can be used both as an examination method to identify nerve problems and as a treatment technique. The aim is to restore neural mobility, normalize nerve function and reduce pain.
Areas of application:
- carpal tunnel syndrome
- sciatica
- nerve compression syndromes
- Chronic pain syndromes
